Materials and finishes
We pick materials by use, not by fashion. Here is what each material does — and what it does not.
PLA
- • Stiff, detailed, many colours
- • Softens around 55–60 °C — not for a hot car or direct sun
- • Not universally compostable: industrial composting needs dedicated facilities
- • Indoor decor, organisation, gifts
PETG
- • Tougher and less brittle than PLA
- • Better moisture and temperature resistance
- • Slightly softer surface, visible layers
- • Daily use, holders, cupboards (not food approved)
PETG-CF
- • Carbon-filled, stiffer and matte
- • Less warping, cleaner edges
- • Wears nozzles faster — affects price
- • Functional parts and brackets
TPU
- • Flexible and grippy
- • Slower to print
- • Good for feet, inserts and damping
- • Not for rigid structures
ASA
- • More UV stable than PLA and PETG
- • Better outdoors with caveats
- • Requires an enclosed printer
- • Colours can shift outdoors over time
Finishes
Standard (as printed, with visible layers), sanded (softer edges, matted surface) and painted (primed and lacquered). Visible layers are part of the look — not a defect.
We do not claim our prints are food approved, biodegradable under ordinary conditions or heat resistant. If you need documented suitability, contact us before ordering.
